Unlocking the Magic of Indian Weddings

The Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) Central Florida West recently hosted an unforgettable networking luncheon, Unlocking the Magic of Indian Weddings, bringing together wedding professionals eager to expand their cultural knowledge and expertise.

This exclusive event was designed to demystify the rich traditions, customs, and logistics of South Asian weddings—while offering attendees a hands-on, immersive experience.

A Panel of Experts

The luncheon featured an incredible lineup of industry leaders:
✨ Soka IM | Apsara Events
✨ Courtney Owens | Hilton Complex Director
✨ Shivali Vyas | Spinning Canvas

Together, they pulled back the curtain on the vibrant world of Indian weddings, answering questions like “Is a Dupatta the same as a Saree?” and even sharing lighthearted stories like what to do during a Dupatta emergency! No question was off-limits, and the discussion gave attendees practical tools to better serve multicultural couples.

Spilling the Chai

In true ABC fashion, the learning wasn’t just theoretical. Guests enjoyed Spilling the Chai: Everything You Wanted to Know About a South Asian Wedding but Were Afraid to Ask—a lively, hands-on session where planners could sip authentic chai, explore traditions, and experience the beauty (and occasional craziness!) of South Asian wedding culture.

A Taste of Tradition

To further immerse guests in the experience, the luncheon menu featured Indian-inspired cuisine:

  • Entrée: Masala Spiced Airline Chicken with lentil rice, roasted carrots, and palak curry

  • Dessert: Mango Phirni with toasted pistachios and pomegranate seeds

The flavors brought an extra layer of authenticity, allowing attendees to savor the culture they were learning about.

Building Connections

Beyond the education, the luncheon fostered valuable networking opportunities. Planners left not only with new knowledge but also with fresh connections and inspiration for incorporating South Asian traditions into their businesses.
