Partnership Requirements
To maintain an active partnership, participating institutions agree to:
Designate one faculty or staff liaison.
Share ABC membership and educational opportunities with interested students.
Maintain periodic communication with ABC.
Participate in at least one collaborative activity each year, such as a guest lecture, webinar, classroom presentation, workshop, or certification course.

The ABC Academic Partner Program is designed for colleges, universities, community colleges, hospitality programs, career schools, and other educational institutions offering programs related to wedding planning, event management, hospitality, tourism, business, design, or related fields.

There is currently no fee for an educational institution to become an ABC Academic Partner. The goal of the program is to build stronger connections between academic institutions and the professional wedding and event industry while creating meaningful career pathways for students.

Absolutely. Community colleges are encouraged to participate. ABC welcomes institutions offering degree, certificate, continuing education, workforce development, hospitality, tourism, and event-related programs.

Students enrolled in qualifying programs may receive complimentary ABC Student Membership. The Academic Partner and ABC will coordinate the process for identifying eligible students and activating their memberships.

Yes. ABC can work with Academic Partners to provide guest speakers, workshops, specialized training, and other educational programming. We can also explore customized programs based on the needs of your students and institution.

No. Academic Partners are not required to offer an ABC certification course. Institutions can participate through student membership, guest speakers, industry networking, internships, professional development, classroom collaboration, and other opportunities. Schools interested in expanding their curriculum can also work with ABC to explore workshops and professional certification programs.

Programs can be structured to complement your existing curriculum and provide students with a natural progression from academic study into professional development.

The Academic Partner relationship is intended to be an ongoing collaboration. ABC works with each institution to maintain an active partnership and identify opportunities for student engagement, faculty involvement, education, mentorship, networking, and career development.

Institutions interested in becoming an ABC Academic Partner can complete the Academic Partner interest/application form. An ABC representative will follow up to learn more about your institution, academic programs, and students and discuss opportunities for collaboration.
