David’s Bridal’s Pearl Plans: What Wedding Professionals Should Know

David’s Bridal and K&F Growth Acquisition Corp. II announced on October 22, 2026, a proposal to separate Pearl from David’s Bridal and make it a publicly traded company. Pearl brings together wedding-planning tools, media, commerce, and a marketplace connecting couples with wedding professionals.

This is a proposed transaction, not a completed separation. The parties have a nonbinding letter of intent and must still negotiate definitive agreements and obtain required approvals. David’s Bridal says its retail stores will continue operating as usual.

For ABC members, the larger story is how couples may discover and select their wedding teams. Pearl Planner uses AI to help couples organize decisions and receive vendor recommendations. Its vendor-facing platform, Pearl Connect, offers listings, inquiry management, and paid features. These tools may create opportunities for visibility and bookings, but every business should evaluate them against its own goals and costs.

Questions to ask before investing in a platform

Whether you use Pearl or another marketplace, consider:

  • Lead quality: Are inquiries relevant to your location, services, budget, and availability? How many become consultations and booked clients?

  • Total cost: What does a booked client cost after subscription fees, advertising, and the time spent responding to inquiries?

  • Visibility: Which placements are paid, and how are vendors recommended or ranked?

  • Data and terms: What information can you access or export? How do cancellation, renewal, and pricing changes work?

Maintain the channels you control—your website, client relationships, professional referrals, and local network—alongside any paid platform. That gives your business more ways to reach couples and a clearer basis for judging whether a marketplace is delivering value.

ABC will continue to watch how Pearl develops and explore opportunities for member education and dialogue with its leadership. Our focus is straightforward: helping wedding professionals understand new tools, make informed business decisions, and uphold the standards that build client trust.
