When I first got the invitation to attend Sandals Back to the Beach FAM trip at Sandals Grande Antigua, I knew this was going to be something special. I didn’t give Veronica a chance to finish explaining before I said YES….. I was so excited I forgot to check with my husband to see if we had plans for our Anniversary as our anniversary was the day before the FAM trip.

This wasn’t just any trip-it was a chance to join a select group of travel agents, all eager to dive deeper into the world of Sandals and Beaches Resorts. I packed my bags excited to learn, explore, and, of course, soak in some island sunshine.

First Impressions

Stepping onto the property at Sandals Grande Antigua felt like walking straight into a postcard. The palm trees swayed in the breeze, the sand was warm and soft beneath my feet, and the Caribbean Sea stretched out in endless shades of blue. It didn’t take long before I understood why this resort is often called the “Most Romantic Resort in the World.”

But what excited me most was hearing about what’s coming next. Sandals Antigua is currently in the middle of a big transformation here, with construction underway that will continue through 2027. The highlight? Overwater bungalows! Just imagining couples waking up to turquoise waters all around them gave me goosebumps.

Learning as a Wedding & Travel Planner

As a destination wedding and travel planner, I couldn’t wait to see the resort through that lens. Touring the property was more than just sightseeing. I was taking mental notes and lots of photos of all the spaces couples can use for their big day.

I had the chance to sit down with the wedding department, and that conversation alone was worth the trip. Sandals offer such a variety of packages and romantic add-ons, and each location on the resort has its own unique charm.

It was so easy to picture my clients standing in those spots, surrounded by love and Caribbean beauty.

A Personal Reflection

Walking around, I found myself imagining what it would be like to celebrate something of my own here. If Sandals Grande Antigua allowed Same-Sex weddings, this would be the spot I’d choose for my vow renewal without hesitation. The atmosphere is just that magical; romantic yet relaxed, luxurious yet welcoming.

Why This Trip Matters

This trip was more than just a getaway; it was a chance to learn, to grow, and to experience firsthand what I’ll be recommending to my clients. Being part of Sandals Back to the Beach reminded me why I love doing what I do. When I send a couple to Sandals Grande Antigua, I know exactly the king of memories they’ll come home with because I’ve felt that same magic myself.

Leaving the resort, I carried with me not just the new knowledge and inspiration, but also a renewed excitement for helping couples find their dream wedding destination. And trust me Sandals Grand Antigua is one they’ll never forget.
