How to Repurpose Your Content to Fill Your Marketing Calendar

By Veronica M. Foster, MWP, VTA

Do you ever feel like marketing your wedding business is a full-time job on top of the one you already have? The truth is, you don’t need to constantly create new content—you just need to get smarter about how you repurpose what you’ve already made.

Repurposing content isn’t lazy or repetitive—it’s strategic. It allows you to show up consistently online, save time, and reinforce your message across multiple platforms. One blog post, real wedding, or behind-the-scenes moment can fuel weeks of marketing content when used wisely.

Here’s how to repurpose your content like a pro and keep your calendar full of valuable, consistent marketing.

Step 1: Start With a Core Piece of Content

Choose one strong piece of content each week or month. This could be:

  • A blog post (like the ones we publish right here at ABC)

  • A real wedding feature

  • A podcast episode

  • A Wedding Wednesday webinar recap

  • A styled shoot breakdown

  • A planning tip you shared at a networking event

This becomes your anchor content—the main topic you’ll pull from across all platforms.

Step 2: Break It Down Into Bite-Sized Pieces

Turn that one piece of content into smaller posts. For example, from one blog post you can create:

  • Instagram carousel with 3–5 quick tips

  • Instagram Reel or TikTok with a voiceover summary

  • Facebook post highlighting one standout idea

  • Pinterest graphic linking to the full article

  • Email newsletter with a CTA to read more or reply with questions

  • Quote graphic for your stories or grid

  • LinkedIn post for a more professional spin

  • Behind-the-scenes photo or video from the project

Suddenly, one piece of content has become 7–10 posts across platforms.

Step 3: Schedule It All Out

Plug your repurposed content into a marketing calendar. This helps you:

  • Stay consistent without scrambling for ideas

  • Balance promotional, educational, and personal content

  • Keep your messaging aligned across all platforms

Pro tip: Use a free tool like Trello, Asana, or even Google Calendar to plan your posts weekly or monthly.

Step 4: Refresh & Reuse Older Content

You don’t always need something new. Look through past content and ask:

  • Is this still relevant?

  • Can I update the tips or photos?

  • Can I spin it for a different season or audience?

A planning checklist you shared last year can be turned into a short-form video this year. A wedding you featured in the fall can become “winter wedding inspiration” with a new caption. A webinar from last quarter can become an Instagram tip series.

ABC Member Tip: “I created a blog post about timelines for wedding days last summer. I’ve since turned it into an email funnel, a downloadable checklist, three Instagram posts, and a YouTube video. That one post still brings me leads today,” shares ABC Certified Wedding Planner Angela B. from Colorado.

Step 5: Use Templates & Tools to Stay on Track

Tools like Canva, Later, Planoly, or Metricool let you quickly duplicate and customize content across platforms.

And if you’re an ABC member, remember—we give you member-only templates, downloadable guides, and even suggested social media captions to help you market with less stress.

Final Thought: You’re Already Sitting on Gold

Your past work, ideas, blog posts, and expertise are marketing gold. Repurposing helps you reach more people with less effort, build authority, and stay visible when your calendar is packed with weddings.

Don’t create more—leverage what you’ve already created.
