The Association of Bridal Consultants' Indiana/Kentucky Local Networking Group recently welcomed members and guests for an unforgettable evening of education, inspiration, and networking during our "Coming Up Roses" event, held in collaboration with the Kentucky Florists' Association.

Hosted at the stunning 8UP Elevated Drinkery & Kitchen, perched atop the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Louisville, attendees enjoyed breathtaking rooftop views, signature cocktails, delicious appetizers, decadent desserts, and meaningful conversations with fellow wedding professionals from across the region.

The highlight of the evening was an engaging presentation by Michael Gaddie, AIFD, owner of Lloyd's Florist & Events, who offered a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at one of the world's most iconic floral events—the Tournament of Roses Parade.

Michael shared his firsthand knowledge of what it takes to design and create the spectacular floral floats seen by millions each New Year's Day. Attendees learned about the intricate planning process, engineering and mechanics behind each float, how flowers and natural materials are carefully selected, and the intensive preparation required before every bloom is meticulously placed by hand.

For many attendees, it was a rare opportunity to gain insight into a level of floral artistry few professionals ever have the chance to experience.

Beyond the educational presentation, the evening celebrated one of the greatest benefits of ABC membership—bringing wedding professionals together to learn from industry leaders, exchange ideas, build lasting relationships, and strengthen our professional community across state lines.

The collaboration between the Association of Bridal Consultants and the Kentucky Florists' Association showcased the value of partnerships that elevate the entire wedding industry through education, creativity, and shared expertise.
