The Speaker of the Year award honors a professional speaker who consistently engages, motivates, and inspires audiences in the wedding and event planning industry. This award recognizes speakers who bring valuable insights, innovative topics, and a passion for the wedding industry to their engagements.

Nomination Overview (150 words)

Provide an overview of the speaker’s contributions in the past year, answering the following questions:

  • What speaking engagements did the speaker participate in this year?

  • What themes and overall messages did they present?

  • What innovative topics did they include in their presentations?

  • Does the speaker show a genuine passion for the wedding and event planning industry?

This overview may be used in promotional materials, and ABC reserves the right to modify this description for program use.

Nomination Details (350-500 words)

Please answer the following questions in order, leaving space between responses to maximize clarity and point value:

  1. What objectives were presented by the clients for the speaker's engagements? How did the speaker address these objectives and capture the essence of the event or conference?

  2. What innovative topics and unique contributions did the speaker share with the audience? Include any career-enhancing knowledge or insights that were shared, especially those that resonated with the wedding and event planning industry.

  3. How did the speaker engage with the attendees? Discuss how the speaker tailored their content and delivery to the specific audience, ensuring relevance and maximizing impact.

  4. How many attendees were present at various speaking engagements? Provide details on the number of people who attended the speaker’s sessions or workshops.

Supporting Materials for Submission

Please upload the following items to complete your award submission:

  • 5-6 photos showing the speaker in action, including details of the speaking engagements and how objectives were achieved.

  • A list of the number of attendees at various speaking engagements.

  • Evaluation results and feedback, including evaluation averages and testimonials from attendees.

  • Required: Submit one video segment (maximum of two minutes in length), hosted on a platform such as Vimeo or YouTube.

  • Optionally, submit a second video segment (maximum of two minutes in length), also hosted on a platform like Vimeo or YouTube.

Who Should Apply:

  • Industry Experts with Speaking Engagements: Speakers who have delivered powerful, engaging, and educational presentations to ABC members and other industry professionals. They should have contributed significantly to the educational and professional development of ABC members.

  • Motivational and Inspirational Speakers: Those who have presented on industry trends, business strategies, or personal growth topics that resonate with event planners and wedding professionals.

  • Example: A wedding business consultant who spoke at multiple ABC events throughout the year, covering topics like “Scaling Your Wedding Business” or “Effective Event Design Strategies,” receiving high marks in attendee feedback for being engaging and informative.
