The ABC Student Member of the Year award recognizes a student member who has made significant contributions to the ABC organization through their involvement, active participation in both local and national ABC chapters, and positive influence on the industry. This award highlights the nominee's commitment to enhancing ABC's presence in the academic community, paving the way for future students, and fostering a deeper connection between students and professionals in the wedding industry.
Nomination Overview (150 words)
Provide a brief overview of the nominee’s achievements and involvement within ABC. Address the following questions:
What is the nominee’s overall participation in ABC?
How have they contributed to the organization and their local chapter?
What is their involvement in the wedding and event planning community?
Why should this nominee receive the ABC Student Member of the Year award?

Nomination Details (350-500 words)
Please answer the following questions in order, leaving space between responses to maximize clarity and point value:
How many years of consecutive student membership does the nominee have? (Membership duration will be verified by ABC staff.)
How did the nominee participate in their student chapter and/or professional chapter? Include any offices held, overall participation, conferences attended (such as ABC’s educational events or networking meet-ups), contributions to the chapter, and any leadership roles they’ve taken on.
Describe the nominee’s impact on their local ABC chapter and the broader ABC organization. This can include the ways they’ve helped foster growth, contributed to chapter events, or enhanced the educational experiences of other members.
Supporting Materials for Submission

Required: A letter of recommendation from an ABC Executive Committee member or chapter leader.
A list of honors or awards the nominee has received, as well as activities, volunteer experiences, and participation in school clubs related to wedding and event planning.
Two supporting documents that demonstrate the nominee’s contributions, such as faculty or academic advisor letters of recommendation, photos, or public press coverage related to ABC activities or events.
A testimonial from the nominee explaining how being part of ABC has influenced their personal and professional growth.
Who Should Apply:
Students Actively Engaged with ABC: Members who are still in school but are highly involved in ABC events, activities, or programs. They might also have contributed to the success of student-focused initiatives or collaborated with industry professionals.
Students Pursuing Wedding/Event Planning Careers: Ideal candidates are students who are pursuing careers in wedding planning, event coordination, or related fields and are actively engaged in learning and networking within ABC.
Example: A student who attends ABC webinars and networking events and has shown a commitment to the industry by contributing to a student-led project or representing ABC at a national conference.
