The ABC Room Block Program is a way for you to offer, very convenient Room Block service to your clients…and earn extra revenue at the same time.

The room block program is a fabulous benefit of ABC membership. Use this ABC service to save your couple’s time and to take advantage of ABC’s high-volume buying power to get great group rates on hotel rooms for your out-of-town wedding guests. This ABC program is one more great reason for a couple to hire you, an ABC member. The room blocking program can be used for any type of group and for any hotel around the world. The benefits are only available to wedding professionals with a current ABC membership.

ABC Pays its members 85% of commission received from hotels throughout the United States and its Territories which include American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

All unclaimed checks will benefit the ABC Education Fund and scholarships.

Step 1

Contact the hotel and ask for a complimentary room block for your guests at a commissionable rate. Let them know you have an IATA number. You will need to give them your couples names and approximate check in and check out dates. The hotel will then send you a rate for your clients to consider.

Once your clients decide on the hotel and the rate request the contract from the hotel. Read the contract and make sure the rate is commissionable and the ABC’s IATA number is listed in the contract. Some contracts may need to be secured by a client credit card and then some are complimentary. If complimentary room block feel free to sign the contract, if secured contract then have your clients sign.

No more than 30 days after the wedding, confirm with the hotel how many rooms and room nights were used along with total room night revenue. THEN complete the Form 3 below which serves as your invoice and email to your hotel contact to begin processing your payment. The hotel will begin payment process under the ABC program IATA # 34-627482.

Important - STEP 3 & 4 MUST be completed no more than 30 days after the wedding date.

Room blocks submitted more than 30 days after the wedding date it is at ABC’s discression to make the commission payment.

 

Step 4 - FINAL STEP – VERY IMPORTANT 

Once you have completed Step 3 - Enter your “completed stay” information below. ABC can then watch for hotel payments, calculate your commission fee, and issue your commission check every quarter (March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 30. Any questions, call the ABC office at 336-690-5510 or use: President@abcweddingplanners.com.  Payments are mailed to members quarterly unless the commission is a substantial amount. Without this last step, your payment may be delayed or refused.

Fill out the form below for up to 2 room blocks per event. The form will be routed to a member who does room blocks all the time. They will create the room block for you and send ABC the information needed for guests to make their reservations and we’ll send that information to you. You’ll split the 85% commission with the member that does the room block for you!
