Award Description:
The ABC Chapter Community Service of the Year award recognizes chapters for outstanding contributions to charitable or non-profit organizations through events, outreach activities, or fundraising efforts. This award highlights chapters that have made a measurable impact on their community, whether through a single initiative or multiple activities. Awards will be given based on chapter size, acknowledging the unique contributions of both small and large chapters.
Nomination Overview (150 words)
Provide a concise overview describing your chapter’s community service efforts in the past calendar year. Address the following:
What community service activities did the chapter undertake?
Why were these projects chosen?
What were the chapter’s overall community service goals?
Were the goals achieved?
This overview may be used in promotional materials, and ABC reserves the right to modify it. Highlight the chapter’s creativity, volunteer engagement, and measurable community impact to set the tone for the full nomination.
Nomination Details (350-500 words)
Answer all prompts in order, leaving space between responses:
Community Impact:
Describe the impact of the service work on the community.
Include community response and feedback.
If multiple activities were conducted, discuss each in detail.
Marketing Strategies:
Describe the strategies and materials used to promote the project.
Marketing Impact:
Explain how marketing efforts contributed to the success of the project.
Planning & Volunteer Structure:
Describe the organizational structure, including committees or chapter-wide involvement.
Community Contribution:
Explain how the chapter’s efforts provided meaningful impact on the community.
Supporting Materials for Submission
To receive full credit, upload the following:
List of all beneficiaries and description of donations, including estimated value of in-kind contributions and volunteer hours
List of all paid services from ABC members
Documentation of membership involvement: planning, volunteering, and donating, including percentage of total chapter membership participation
5–6 high-quality photos demonstrating sponsorship, volunteers, or donations
4 pieces of sample marketing materials: invitations, programs, press releases, media coverage, nametags, menu cards, or event surveys
Optional video segment (maximum 2 minutes via Vimeo or YouTube)
Who Should Apply
Chapters with impactful community service initiatives benefiting charitable or non-profit organizations
Chapters that demonstrate creativity, volunteer engagement, and strong planning structure
Chapters that achieved measurable community outcomes and successfully promoted their efforts
Both small and large chapters are encouraged to apply, as awards will recognize contributions across tiered chapter sizes
