How to Nominate: Trendsetter Awards

The Trendsetter Awards were created to celebrate the professionals who are shaping the future of the wedding and travel industries — the innovators, leaders, educators, advocates, and rising stars who go above and beyond for their clients and community.

Whether you’re nominating yourself or someone whose work deserves recognition, the process is designed to be thoughtful, fair, and accessible. Here’s exactly how to do it.

Step 1: Choose the Right Award Category

Start by reviewing the available Trendsetter Award categories and selecting the one that best aligns with the nominee’s impact, leadership, and achievements.

Each category has:

  • A clear award description

  • Defined judging criteria

  • Specific examples of what judges are looking for

📌Tip: Choose the category that best tells the nominee’s story — not necessarily the one with the longest résumé.

Step 2: Prepare Your Nomination Overview

The Nomination Overview is your snapshot moment.

You have to explain:

  • Who the nominee is

  • Why they stand out

  • The impact they’ve made on clients, peers, or the industry

Think of this as the why this matters section. Judges read this first — make it compelling, authentic, and specific.

Step 3: Complete the Detailed Nomination

This is where the nominee’s work really comes to life.

Your detailed nomination should include:

  • Specific examples of achievements or leadership

  • Contributions to education, advocacy, innovation, or community

  • Measurable outcomes (growth, engagement, influence, results)

  • Collaboration with peers, organizations, or partners

📌 Pro tip: Focus on impact over titles. Judges want to see how the nominee moved the industry forward.

Step 4: Gather Supporting Materials

Strong nominations are backed by proof.

Supporting materials may include:

  • Testimonials from clients, peers, or industry leaders

  • Screenshots or links to marketing, press, or educational content

  • Engagement records, speaking appearances, or program participation

  • Social media examples or campaigns

You don’t need everything — just enough to support the story you’re telling.

Step 5: Submit Before the Deadline

Once all sections are complete:

  • Review for clarity and completeness

  • Confirm all required fields are filled

  • Submit the nomination before the posted deadline

Late or incomplete nominations may not be considered.

A Few Important Things to Know

  • ✔️ Self-nominations are welcome

  • ✔️ Members and non-members may be nominated (eligibility varies by category)

  • ✔️ Judging is independent and criteria-based

  • ✔️ Awards are earned — not purchased

The Trendsetter Awards are about credibility, leadership, and impact, and every nomination is reviewed with care and intention.
