A Family-Centered Celebration Filled with Heart

Wedding Day Management by Master Wedding Planner Colleen Bauer, Fairy Godmother Events

Some weddings are defined by grandeur. Others by style. This one? By heart.

On April 11, 2025, 300 guests gathered at Seven Oaks Country Club for a celebration that felt deeply personal, lovingly designed, and joyfully family-oriented. With a palette of natural tones, cream, and black, this wedding balanced elegance with warmth—proving that when love and intention lead the way, the result is truly unforgettable.

Guiding the day with grace and expertise was Colleen Bauer, MWP, of Fairy Godmother Events Inc., providing Wedding Day Management for a celebration eight months in the making.

A Love Story That Started with Family

This couple’s story began in the sweetest way—their mothers set them up. What followed was a beautiful love story rooted in family, connection, and shared values, which became the foundation for the entire wedding design.

That sense of family was woven into every detail, from the overall aesthetic to the many handmade elements that made the day feel intimate despite the large guest count.

Personal Touches That Made the Day Unique

One of the most meaningful aspects of this wedding was how hands-on the bride was in the design process. She personally created several key elements, including:

  • The welcome sign

  • The guest book

  • The seating chart

  • The dessert presentation

  • All custom signage

These details didn’t just decorate the space—they told a story. Each piece reflected her creativity, love for family, and desire to make guests feel personally welcomed.

Adding to the sentiment, the bride’s uncle created all of the florals, further grounding the design in family and making the celebration even more meaningful.

A Natural, Elegant Design for a Large Celebration

Design inspiration centered around natural beauty and togetherness. Cream linens, black accents, candlelight, and organic floral elements worked together to create a welcoming, timeless environment—one that felt equally suited for heartfelt conversations and a packed dance floor.

With 300 guests, execution and flow were essential. Fairy Godmother Events supported the day with three setup staff and two assistants, ensuring everything moved smoothly from ceremony to reception.

Calm Leadership Behind the Scenes

True to Colleen’s Master Wedding Planner approach, the day unfolded seamlessly. Even when a small setback arose with the band’s dance floor, it was handled quickly and professionally.

“Working with the rental company, we were able to get everything put together, and it looked perfect,” Colleen shared—an example of the calm problem-solving that defines experienced wedding day management.

Lessons That Reinforce Mastery

Every wedding offers insights, even when things go beautifully. For this event, the key takeaway was the value of even deeper communication with vendor partners—a reminder that collaboration is at the heart of flawless execution.

And if anything would be done differently?

“No,” Colleen noted. “The wedding was absolutely beautiful.”
