Become a Certified Wedding Planner

The Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) is the oldest and largest organization exclusively serving wedding professional worldwide. We have been training wedding planners and vendors since 1955 to achieve excellence and maintain the highest professional standards within the industry!

Our programs provide all of the information you will need to get started to become successful in this business. Our courses and seminars are also periodically updated to reflect changes in our industry.

The Professional Wedding Planner Program (PWP) offers some of the most comprehensive training in the wedding industry. The PWP is a self-paced, full content, home-study program which can generally be completed in 90 – 180 days. The Professional Wedding Planner Program contains a new introductory section covering the major components of the wedding planning process along with the following in-depth, graded sections:

  1. A Planner’s Toolbox

  2. Etiquette for Wedding Planning Professionals

  3. Wedding Business Basics

  4. Wedding Etiquette

  5. Planning and Consulting

  6. Wedding Services

  7. Rehearsal to Reception

To enroll in the PWP, you must register as a member with the Association of Bridal Consultants. Once all seven sections exams, final exam and project have been passed under ABC’s grading standards, you will earn your certificate of completion where 25 education points will be placed toward your Education and Professional Development requirements to earn more advanced and distinguished designations.


The full program package for $ 770 includes your first-year ABC membership. If you are already an ABC member, you may order the seven sections individually at $99 each for a total of $693, but most members order the full program all at once to capture the 20% savings for a total program price of $550.
